James Bryan McKathan, affectionately known to most as Luke McKathan, was a born horseman from Andalusia, Alabama. Growing up on a cotton farm, he felt a deep connection to horses and left home at the tender age of 13 to pursue what he imagined his destiny to be. His journey led him to discover horse racing, initially with Standardbreds. Luke’s passion for horses soon shifted to Quarter Horse racing, and he embarked on a new career as a trainer.
